The Reading Choice of ER Moms

I received an email from a great mom I know who had the misfortune of spending the evening in the ER with her "medium child."

She was kind enough to include a picture of her visit:

Who looks this pulled together in the ER?  I am usually wearing pajamas and zit cream.

I can think of no greater endorsement for Epic Mom (the super-duper funny book I co-authored with Julie Harrison) than seeing it as the go-to choice for mothers of the ER everywhere.
This kind of honor is better than any Pulitzer out there.
My co-author also wanted me to remind you that Mother's Day is right around the corner and there is probably someone in your life who could use a laugh.
Let's just hope it is not because she's spending 6 hours in the ER.

  1. I don't want to toot my own horn, but I have been to the ER several times, and each time I looked like a stone cold fox.

  2. That woman looks AMAZING.
She needs to be my stylist.
And she also looks like my daughter's former kindergarten aide.
I had to do a double take.
Its not her, in case you were on the edge of your seat.
I plan to do a little pimping of your book at a certain stage play this weekend......

  3. I hope she has on silly colored or ill-fitting pants with the pulled together top half! (I also hope everything turned out fine!)

  4. My my! A mother has her only free time to read when she is in ER! Or she just couldn't put your book down! But I did enjoy your book immensely away from ER.

In ER recently I used my iPhone to text and to play Words With Friends. I have learned to take the charger cord. It is only in intensive care now that you cannot use cell phones.

  5. Aw, that is so great. I'm assuming her child wasn't in life threatening danger for her to be able to calmly take a picture of her reading material. And it truly IS an awesome endorsement.

I am embarrassed to say I still haven't read it, yet! I am going to get right on that :)

  6. Epic Mom would make a terrific Mother's Day Gift!

  7. OH MY GOSH honey! How did I miss you had a book out! I will get my hands on a copy immediately! So proud of you :) Sending lots of love, my sweet friend. (PS I loved The Gift of the Peni as I, too, am surrounded by boys!)
