The Simple Things

I bought something last week that has brought me so much joy and pleasure, I can't even begin to tell you.  Every time I open my pantry door and see it, I can't help but smile.  Have a look:

It was $10 at Home Depot and while the instructions say it is only supposed to hold 30 plastic grocery bags, I currently have about 100 stuffed in that sucker.

Everything has its place, and I will no longer suffer the indignity of a disheveled lot of bags littering my life.

They have been vanquished.  To a little stainless steel box.

I kind of feel like a Ghostbuster.

  2. What?!?! I haven't been getting any of your posts in my reader! Here I was thinking that you were busy with other things...but it appears that your blog address has changed from .com to .ca, and that means I'm following a non-updated blog. I had to re-add you. Bah.

Anyway, I'm glad to "see" you again! And I'm also glad that you have a happy-making decorative bag holder.

  3. I used to have one of these put out by Tupperware and liked it. I'll have to check this one out!

  4. Haha! I've always wanted one of those. It's funny that as we get older, it's the simple things in life, like having somewhere to stash your bags, that make us happy.

  5. So you are suggesting that it is possible to NOT have one side of my under the sink cabinet overrun by plastic bags threatening to suffocate everything in their path? Interesting...

  6. We have a Rubbermaid version of the same thing. It really is one of the best inventions ever, and so much nicer looking than those "ladies" that hang and you fill their skirts with the bags. Bag ladies. Get it? bwah-hah-hah! I've seen them at a gazillion craft fairs and only as I typed this did I get the joke. Oh, brother!

  7. That is awesome. I have this bag holder that I made a long time ago, and just yesterday noticed how gross it is. Maybe it's time to make a trip to Home Depot.
