My kids have 18 first cousins.  They are an impressive lot of scholars, athletes, and all-around great kids.  We are very lucky to have them in our lives.

When one such cousin stopped by to watch the Hawks game the other day and the match went into overtime, Joey curled up in his cousin's lap and promptly fell asleep.  Rita followed shortly behind.  I love this picture:

I suppose today's entry is a little short on thematics.  But I think family is always a good topic, especially when it looks like this.

  1. Sweet picture! What a beautiful young lady...her mother must be a very beautiful woman. ;)

  2. Missy - Her mother is a STUNNER, and has been known to hijack this very blog on occasion. (;

  3. EIGHTEEN cousins! That's so lovely. It seems that most kids don't have very many cousins at all anymore. I grew up with a gaggle of cousins, and I wouldn't have had it any other way. Beautiful picture...made me smile.

  4. Lovely pic, cousins are such fun. they make family get togethers much more interesting.

  5. I had many, many cousins growing up and the holidays were always a blast. I feel sorry for my almost two year old daughter. She has one cousin and that cousin is 28 years old! Your sons are truly lucky to have so many cousins and I am very jealous.

  6. Stephanie - Thank you! I really don't like kids, but I enjoy all the cousins. They're really great people.

    Julie - Interesting and loud. I wouldn't know what to do with a quiet family get-together.

    Jewels - ...until they both wake up.

    itsadomelife - I have the same memories. It just doesn't feel like a holiday when there aren't 20 kids running around. I'd lend you a few if I could!
