Baskin-Robbins Apparently Loves You Guys

In a certain chapter in a certain Top 10 Hot Release Book (see bottom of page for evidence as I have been known to eek out the occasional white lie now & then), there is a chapter on Baskin-Robbins ice cream cakes.  A certain co-author shared some funny reflections on the great joy (and occasionally, the great sorrow) in loving frozen desserts.

Naturally Baskin-Robbins contacted us.

And because I love you guys more than brownies and liposuction put together, I am happy to host a contest for their adorable holiday cakes this year:

I'm ordering Frosty.

So listen to this.  Baskin-Robbins will provide a $31 gift certificate to TWO lucky winners of our contest.  How do you win?  First, comment below on what you think of the new cakes (I kind of want to sleep with one, but I know how that relationship would end).

Second, email me at mostlymarianne@gmail.com by December 18th the answer to this question:

What is the name of Julie's essay about Baskin Robbins?

I will select two winners from the pool of people who send me the right answer.  Make sure you include your mailing address so I can provide that to Baskin-Robbins right away for sending out your gift cards.

Good luck!!

Fine, this list changes hourly, but I for one am reveling in feeling like Bo Derek for a few minutes.

    1. Nice "hint" Julie. You're about as subtle as a freight train. Julie's "hint" below:

    2. 'Subtle as a freight train' is going to be put on my tombstone. Do you have a problem with that?

  2. Those cakes are *almost* too cute to eat, but I think I wouldn't have a problem eating them anyway, as I know from years of experience how delicious Baskin Robbins Ice Cream cakes are... Heading over to Julie's blog to see if I can find a hint to answer the question about the name of her essay. Right now, the odds of me winning looking pretty good! :)

    1. Aren't they?? I totally want to be the big hit at Christmas and bring one, but I fear I might eat Frosty's face in the car ride over.

  6. I need a hint because my book has not arrived yet!!! Hurry up, Mr. Postman.

I think that Elf one looks like my daughter. That might make it weird to eat it. I am voting for Santa because I think the beard = extra sugary deliciousness. They are pretty cute cakes.

I am commenting just in case my book arrives before the 18th and I can frantically race to the right chapter and email you the answer...fingers crossed.

  9. This is too much effort. My computer is acting slow and I am not going to risk it by clicking through to other links for mysterious clues, Marianne. You're hurting my brain! I JUST WANT ICE CREAM, dangit!

So, I'll say that I would choose the snowman, too, because he's less "animate" than the elf or Santa. It seems kind of wrong to cut into a potentially living being while the snowman is MOST LIKLEY not magical, i.e. not alive, and less likely to bleed ice cream blood... Nothing says "Merry Christmas!" quite like a bloody ice cream treat, eh?

    1. Way to scar the children for Christmas Christmas, Tracey. What next? A viewing of "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre?"

Fine, fine, fine...you're entered too only because MOV gave out the answer on her blog and ruined all my fun. As it stands, everyone has a 1 in 3.5 chance of winning. Pretty good odds!

P.S. Everyone say hi to Tracey, she's new. I met her at the Coca-Cola thing. She's a kindred spirit and super-funny. I've also nicknamed her "Homeschool," but I can't remember why.

    2. Um, because I HOMESCHOOL, you twit! I am super-funny, though. You are correct in that.

AND YAY FOR ICE CREAM ENTRIES WITHOUT THE EXTRA WORK!!!!

  10. I think my kids would feel like they won the ice cream cake lottery if I brought one of those puppies home. I make a lot of delicious desserts, but ice cream cakes I don't do. Baskin Robbins is already doing a terrific job!
