Great Article Marianne! Finding a real, true, down to earth 'Mom' friend is the best prize of all. It is a friendship containing all qualities we need. Laughter, humor, shoulder to cry on, commiserate with, and simply someone to talk to who understands what you are going through. Because lets face it, once we become moms, then that sums up 99.9 percent of our lives. We eat, sleep, and breathe being a mom. So someone who can understand that is awesome to have around. They are also fun to have around, when you wanna let your hair down, grab a drink and celebrate when you have that .1 percent of time in the day ;)
I don't really have a mom friend. Well, I guess I do if you count my sister - which I definitely do. But I see mom friends groups at church and they seem like they have so much fun. Gee, I must be pathetic not to have mom friends.
Judy - Yay! I LOVE new followers (in a non-Jim Jones way). It's never to late to get mom friends. For me, someone who bakes me cookies pretty much secures my loyalty and devotion for life. Yes, I can be bought. Though sometimes a good sister is all a gal needs! Thanks for reading!
I couldn't agree more about Mom friends. I joined a MOMS Club shortly after my second was born and was afraid that I was joining a cult. Now two years later, these women have become some of my best friends. We just "get" each other. I'm now President of the cult and couldn't be happier!
Lol, you crack me up!
ReplyDeleteI see those chicks from the picture every time I go to the park. So, usually I just stay in my car.
ReplyDeleteYou mean we will try to pretend those three look somewhere near as fabulous as we do, right?

See the blonde on the left? It's not me.
ReplyDeleteCatie - thank you!
ReplyDeleteJewels - I throw rocks at them.
Andrea - Yeah. That's totally what I meant! (;
JR - You said it. Plus, my mom friends BAKE? They could be serial killers, just so long as they keep dropping off cupcakes. (;
Julie - But she looks so much like you! Sure?
