Why It's Important to Marry Well

I am very lucky to have married "up."

And if it wasn't for my husband, the kids would never know what a home-cooked meal looks like.

  1. Okay...he's a fireman. He's supposed to cook. And use fire to do it.

  2. My husband makes french toast...that is it. Yet the kids treat him like Chef Boyardee!

  4. LOL, Marianne, this is too funny. Son bought a smoker Labor Day weekend and has been "smoking" every weekend something. There's a story about it down the line on my blog, but the food is so delicious that comes out of it. WTG to Joe for being the cook in the family! Isn't it great to have a hubby who likes to cook (mine does, as well as son). I'm with you, I don't mind cleaning up. I will prepare a meal, but they cook, know seasonings, flavors of things, I just follow the recipe and keep it as simple as I can.

  5. I am so with you on the cooking thing...I think my biggest gripe is that I hate not having all of the ingredients to make a recipe without having to go to the store. And I'm not very good at just whipping something up with a little bit of this and a little bit of that. Thank goodness for husbands that can cook! :)

  6. Joe appears to be looking very intensely for whatever wild life passes by that will be seized for his new smoking apparatus. Are the children safely secure under your wings?

  7. Are they meat and potatoes guys, or have you trained them to eat salads? You do make salads, don't you, or buy them ready made. My husband likes my salads better than the meat I try to cook.

  9. If my husband cooks the dishes drive me insane. Seriously, how does he manage to use EVERY bowl/utensil/cutting board/knife in the house?!
