Our Triumphant Return

We arrived back in Chicago at 7 am this morning courtesy of an over-heated minivan, an over-tired Joe, and an overflow of stories that can only be described as:

How does this sh*t keep happening to us?

On the plus side, I've got gads of good material to share shortly.

After my nap.

And some extra treatment for PTSD.

Stay tuned.

I call this happy picture "When photos completely belie reality."

  1. Welcome back PTSD is a living hell. It really is. I look forward to your extra treatment. There's a REM treatment, but when the trauma is severe, you have to go thru almost 2 years of classes before you can do it.

  3. Yay welcome back. I have a number for a support group for mums who take their children on holidays, I can give it to you when you get up from your nap.

  4. Oh no! Were you in Orlando and I didn't meet you?! Someone else kidnapped your blog while you were gone.

    1. It was the nice lady from BlogHer who posted my Poise review because I'm too stupid to figure out my blog from the road. It's amazing I can set my alarm clock each morning...

  5. I had PTSD after our Disney cruise. But only because I didn't have anyone waiting on me hand and foot anymore, and I had to come home and cook for people. Can't wait to see the gads of good material! :)

    1. Thanks, Danelle! I heard those Disney cruises set you up for a big letdown afterwards, appreciate the head's up!

  6. It's certainly a very "Small world" trapped in a mini van with small children. Will that song ever leave your head?

    1. Never! But I'm kind of a Small World devotee. My husband and kids think I'm weird.

  7. God bless you! My husband refuses to make a trip to Disney-I promised the kids a trip to Florida and Universal in a few years. For some reason, the music from the old Schwarzenegger Conan the Barbarian runs through my head as I look at your approach to the Magic Kingdom.

    1. I say limit it to one day and all is right with the world. Go there a week? You may not survive, even with the help of Conan and/or SuperNanny.

  9. Oh, my cousins were at Disney last week! Did you see them? They were the noisy one with tired, overwhelmed kids.

    1. I think they were behind me in line. And in front. And perhaps also the people walking next to me.

  10. God you were brave going during spring break. We made the trip over the Christmas holiday and bowl season. I'm an idiot I know. How did you like the tolls after every 1/4 mile....I was like WTF? I just paid you.

    1. I live to annoy you. Did I mention JC Penney just called and offered me a contract?

    2. Cool! Actually I think you should hold out for the Tonight Show. Isn't that how Ms. Barr got her start?

But we never know with you. It could be JC Penney fame, or an infamous rebuke contract to pay your credit card with them.

      Love all your quips here.

  13. Oh I bet you have some good stories to share! Welcome home. I think the best part about being home is getting to sleep in your own bed!!
